It is a relatively simple walk with narrow paths and gravel roads around the beautiful mountain villages of Argiroupoli and Kato Poros. We will enjoy the views of the surrounding mountains, valleys, olive groves and waterfalls. You will learn about the history of both the ancient town of Lappa and the village of Argiroupoli built on its ruins. We will visit a number of intriguing monuments, such as the remains of Roman baths with well-preserved mosaics, a Roman necropolis, Venetian residences with mysterious inscriptions, etc. We will rest under an ancient plane tree whose age exceeds 2000 years! There will be an opportunity to taste the avocado juice or salad (the largest plantations of this healthy fruit in Crete are located near Argiroupoli) and to eat trout in one of the taverns at the waterfalls. Probably on the trail outside of Argiroupoli you will not meet many tourists and the nearby views will remain in your memory for a long time.
